Abstract: The aim of the research was to develop flyash concrete and assess various factors controlling its durability in the marine environment. Hence the research was planned with the following objectives in mind: (1) Development of flyash concrete for marine waters. (2) Evaluation of the role of seawater temperature, dissolved oxygen, salinity and pH on the durability of flyash concrete. (3) Assessment of the effect of micro and macro fouling. (4) Determination of the diffusion rate and effect of chloride, sulphate and magnesium ions on flyash concrete. (4) Assessment of the degree of deterioration of flyash concrete in various zones of the marine environment.
