The occurrence of @iDiscocyclina boetonensis@@ and @iCamerina wadiai@@ of definite Paleocene to Lower Eocene age in the F Zone-Nerinea beds-of Pondicherry area is reported. The occurrence of these two species in the transgression phase of the east coast of India is very significant because of their near similarity to those found in Indonesia, North America, and also Northwest Frontier Provinces of India (now in Pakistan). The fossil assemblage indicates low energy, quiet water, infra-neritic and temperate environment
