Extracts of twenty five seaweeds from Indian coast have been put through a broad biological screen which includes tests for antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, antiprotozoal, antifertility activities and a wide range of pharmacological activities Significant biological activity was obtained in 13 seaweeds, the most promising activity being 100% antifertility (anti-implantation) activity observed in 3 species
